Client Agreement
To make an appointment with Mister Mathie Tutors, you must agree to the following:
"TUTOR" refers to the specialist providing services.
"STUDENT" refers to the individual receiving services.
"CLIENT" refers to the individual contracting the Tutor for math tutoring services who is legally able to represent the Student (if a minor) and who is the primary contact responsible for payment and scheduling.
START AND END TIMES ~ Time slots begin and end at the top of the hour. Full sessions can be provided only if the Student is present at the start. Regardless of arrival time, sessions will terminate at the top of the hour.
VIDEO MONITORING ~ To protect all parties, sessions are recorded and stored either to a local SD card (for in-person sessions) or in the cloud (for Zoom sessions) until storage limits overwrite the earliest recordings.
PAYMENT ~ All sessions are scheduled through Acuity by the Client. Payments are made through PayPal at the time of booking or in advance through Zelle or Popular (for booking codes for discounted package rates).
SCHEDULING ~ The Client assumes responsibility for all scheduling, including booking and cancellations. The Student may communicate late arrivals directly, but will otherwise not handle the logistical details.
RESCHEDULING ~ Clients may reschedule any session up to 12 hours prior to the start time in their Acuity account. For same-day cancellations, the Client assumes responsibility for the cost of the session.
SAME-DAY CANCEL FOR PACKAGES ~ For one session per Package of 10, and with at least three hours advance notice, the Client (not the Student) may message the Tutor via WhatsApp to cancel without cost.
TUTOR CANCELLATION ~ Should the Tutor need to cancel a session on the day for which it is scheduled, the Client will receive at least three hours advance notification or will instead receive a complimentary session.
HOMEWORK POLICY ~ The Tutor will teach relevant concepts, create example problems, discuss responses, and support the learning, but completion of any particular assignment is the responsibility of the student.
NO GUARANTEE OF PERFORMANCE ~ Grades are a function of student understanding. No expectation will exist of a particular outcome as a result of these services. The Student is responsible for their own learning.
TERMINATION OF SERVICES ~ The Client may terminate services at any time and request a refund of unused funds. Completed sessions from a Package of 10 will be valued at full price when calculating refund amount.
METHODS OF EFFICIENCY ~ For maximum benefit, it is recommended that:
a) math support is proactive and ongoing, not reactive and late in the semester,
b) core deficits such as operations with integers are regularly practiced at home,
c) materials for sessions are organized and ready at the start of the session, and
d) concepts and materials are shared with the Tutor in advance for prior review.
