Client Agreement
To make an appointment with Mister Mathie Tutors, you must agree to the following:
"Tutor" refers to the specialist providing services.
"Student" refers to the individual receiving services.
"Client" refers to the individual contracting the Tutor for math tutoring services who is legally able to represent the Student (if a minor) and who is the primary contact responsible for payment and scheduling.
“Package” refers to the purchase of a booking code worth ten (10) one-hour sessions used in the Acuity scheduler.
‘Session” refers to a one-hour mathematics tutoring meeting via Zoom.
START AND END TIMES ~ Sessions begin and end at the top of the hour. Full sessions can be provided only if the Student is present at the start. Regardless of arrival time, sessions will terminate at the top of the hour.
SESSION RECORDING ~ All sessions are recorded by Zoom and stored in the cloud until storage limits overwrite earlier recordings. Requests for session summaries and transcripts must be made promptly.
BOOKING ~ All sessions are scheduled through Acuity. Booking is the responsibility of the Client.
PAYMENT ~ Made via PayPal at time of booking or in advance via bank transfer for booking codes (for packages).
RESCHEDULING ~ If the Student cannot meet, the Client must reschedule the session at least 4 hours prior to the start time through their Acuity account or assume responsibility for the cost of the session.
LAST-MINUTE CANCEL FOR PACKAGES ~ One session per Package of 10 may be canceled without cost by messaging the Tutor via WhatsApp prior to the start time. Once started, the session will not be rebooked.
TUTOR CANCELLATION ~ Should the Tutor need to cancel a session less than four hours prior to the start, the Client will receive a complimentary session in addition to the rebooking of the canceled session.
HOMEWORK POLICY ~ The Tutor will teach relevant concepts, create example problems, discuss responses, and support the learning, but completion of any particular assignment is the responsibility of the student.
NO GUARANTEE OF PERFORMANCE ~ Grades are a function of student understanding. No expectation will exist of a particular outcome as a result of services. The Student is responsible for their own learning.
TERMINATION OF SERVICES ~ The Client may terminate services at any time and request a refund of the remaining value of a package. Completed sessions will be valued at full price when calculating refund.
METHODS OF EFFICIENCY ~ For maximum benefit, it is recommended that:
a) math support is proactive and ongoing, not reactive and late in the semester,
b) core deficits such as operations with integers are regularly practiced at home,
c) materials for sessions are organized and ready at the start of the session, and
d) concepts and materials are shared with the Tutor in advance for prior review.
